Super close

The Buckeye, one of Marin's best restaurants, is a block away. Walking paths a few hundred feet from the condo will take you to Sausalito (about 2 miles south) One half mile along the way is Davy Jone's Deli— a GREAT sandwich deli (inside the bait shop). Another quarter mile is Fred's Breakfast, which is a local favorite and highly recommended.  As you get further towards Sausalito, more restaraunts abound.  The ferry to SF is in downton.

Walking in the other direction towards Mill Valley, one path takes you to The Junction (about 1/2 mile away) which has great pizza, salads and beer. Weekends they have music (seasonal?) Almost exactly across the street is Good Earth which is like a Whole Foods, and has  excellent prepared food, salads, etc to go.  Close by, you can connect with the Tennessee Valley trail network

The Manzanita Park 'N Ride (across the street from the Buckeye restaurant) is a major stop for the Mairn Airporter which takes you directly to SFO. Golden Gate Transit also stops there with service to SF and the rest of Marin.

Keith Hansen’s StudioKeith is one of the world’s great ornithologists, a wonderful artist, and a great raconteur. Visit his studio to see his beautiful artwork up-close and talk about what’s going on birding-wise at the moment.  Call in advance to check his availability. Very close to Bolinas Lagoon and Olema Valley, both of which offer good birding,

Swimming

Schoonmaker Beach is nestled within Schoonmaker marina on Richardson Bay. This bay connects to the San Francisco Bay as well as the Pacific Ocean. This 2.3 acre white-sand, salt water beach is sheltered by the Schoonmaker Marina thus the water is calm and shallow, perfect for families with little kids. This beach has a beautiful view of Mount Tamalpals and for all those boat lovers, there are plenty of prestigious yachts to gaze at. Schoonmaker Beach provides some amenities such as water, restrooms and free parking. Due to the calm, shallow water this is a very popular launch point for kayakers and paddle boarders. This beach is located only 1.7 miles (2.7 km) from Schoonmaker Point which is a low lying landform protruding into the San Francisco Bay. Overall, if you are looking for a hidden, peaceful beach with calm waters, Schoonmaker Beach is perfect for you.
